The Plain English Version in Prisons

God's word is for everyone I'm always encouraged when I hear about the Plain English Version (PEV)* being used. I had already heard about it being used in prison ministry in Alice Springs, and Prison Fellowship NT is now making an Aboriginal version of their Prisoner's Journey course, using the PEV book of Mark and study questions adapted by Dave Glasgow. They have found the course to encourage both prisoners and facilitators, and hope that the PEV version will be more accessible for Aboriginal inmates.

Give thanks that the PEV is being used. Pray that as prisoners read God's word they will know the hope that they can have in Jesus.  *The Plain English Version is a translation of the Bible that is designed for people who speak an Aboriginal language as their mother-tongue and don't speak Standard English.
