2 recordists from Global Recordings Network (GRN) were in Darwin record some more of the PEV Bible. I was madly trying to prepare the scripts beforehand, as well as find Aboriginal Christians to read for us. All of the Aboriginal translators that I've met were either in their communities or in the Diploma of Translating class that was on at the same time. So I asked all of the ministry workers I knew if they knew Aboriginal Christians that could read English fairly well. We managed to find 5 people that were interested and hypothetically available, though no one was very interested in confirming a day and time until the day before. It was certainly a test of my ability to adapt to another culture. In the end it worked perfectly. The first person cancelled, but we also had someone drilling through the walls of the studio that first morning, so even that worked well! Thanks God!
The audio from last week still needs editing, but previous recordings of 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Peter and Jude can be found in the PEV app, or on the GRN website or app.
We also had a meeting recently with Faith Comes by Hearing and the Bible Society, who have offered to organise a multi-voice recording of the narratives that will be in the PEV mini-Bible.
Give thanks for GRN, Faith Comes by Hearing and the Bible Society, and that all the logistics worked out for recording last week. Pray that some Aboriginal men will be interested in reading for the recordings, especially as most of the characters that speak in the Bible are men! Pray also that God will use these recordings to bring people to himself.
