A volunteer drafted the *PEV book of Jonah a few years ago, but between the Mini-Bible publication, Genesis, audio recordings, and other projects, Jonah hadn't reached my priority list until now. I really enjoyed editing it and was reminded of God's heart for people who don't yet know him.
(*The Plain English Version is a Bible translation designed for speakers of Aboriginal languages.)
Then God said to Jonah, “You feel sad about that plant. But you didn’t take care of it or make it grow. It grew in one night, and it died in one night. But you think I shouldn’t be sad about Nineveh. Nineveh is a big city, and it has lots and lots of people. It has more than 120,000 people, and those people don’t know what is right and what is wrong. And there are lots of animals there too.”

PEV progress
Genesis – Susanna is going through the consultant's questions, and I am finding pictures to go with the text.
Jonah – Susanna, Jenny and I have all checked it, and I have found pictures and now need to test it with speakers of Aboriginal languages.
Psalms – 3 are ready to add to the next print run, 3 more are waiting to be consultant checked.
Matthew & Luke – we are slowly working on drafting and editing the passages that were left untranslated. They'll need more checks after that.
Audio - a few narrative books are close to being ready to publish, and the book of Galatians will be recorded later this month.
Give thanks for the book of Jonah and God's heart for the nations. And give thanks for slow but steady PEV translation progress. Pray for wisdom for all involved in drafting, checking and recording, and that the finished products will be well used.
