Bible college mission teams

At the end of March we had two Bible College mission teams come to Darwin and partner with us. The team from Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) also partnered with Darwin Baptist Church, and the team from Moore College also partnered with the Anglican Cathedral. 

I spent most of the week with the team from SMBC (where I studied). I thought I'd be exhausted, but the team's enthusiasm and excitement rubbed off on me!

They got to see a fantastic chapel service put on by a Nungalinya class.

And Nungalinya staff and students taught the SMBC team some Christian dances.

And we shared in a beautiful time of 'fellowship' (evening worship service).

We also went along to an informal Sunday service at an Aboriginal Community just out of Darwin.

And they had a go at some Plain English Version Bible translation.

One afternoon some students did an art workshop at Nungalinya, while others visited a boarding house for Indigenous high schoolers from remote communities. One of the house parents, not realising the group had been learning about the Plain English Version (PEV) Bible, excitedly told them how great the PEV has been. He had previously been using another version of the Bible, but found the kids can really understand the PEV! He even said the PEV is helping him communicate more clearly with the kids.

Pray that God will give the students wisdom as they consider their futures, and continue to raise up more workers for the Northern Territory!
